General Service Recruitment

Applications for general service army recruits is open throughout the year. The training syllabus is designed to produce physically fit, disciplined and motivated soldiers. Army General Service recruits on completion of training and 3 star training will be posted to units throughout the country.

Annual Cadetship

The annual cadetship competition offers a range of graduate, non graduate and school leaver opportunities to train and become a commissioned officer in the Irish Defence Forces. Cadetships are offered in the following areas Army Line, Army Equitation, Army Engineer (graduate program), Army Ordnance. and Air Corps Pilot.

Air Corps Apprentice Trainee Technician

Air Corps Apprentices Trainee Technician Competition is run annually. Apprentices complete basic military training and advance onto aviation mechanics and technologies training where they learn the skills to maintain and service our life saving fleet of aircraft. On completion of training, technicians are awarded a level 7 Bachelors of engineering in aviation technologies from TU Dublin.

The Naval Service is the State’s principal seagoing agency with a general responsibility to meet contingent and actual maritime defence requirements. It is tasked with a variety of defence and other roles.

GENERAL SERVICE RECRUITMENT

We recruit Naval Service recruits throughout the year. A Naval Service recruit enlists for General Service in the Other Ranks of the Defence Forces. After successful completion of Recruit Training an Able Rate will be trained in one of the four branches; Seaman’s Branch, Mech’s Branch, Logistics’ Branch or Communications’ Branch.

WHO DO WE WANT?

We want motivated, physically fit and team orientated individuals, who are a minimum of 18 years of age and under 27 years of age on the date deemed as closing date for applications.

CADETSHIP

Naval Cadetships are offered on an annual basis. A Naval Cadet enlists for a Cadetship to become an Officer in the Defence Forces. The Naval Service offer cadetships in the following areas; Operations, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
