Tech Week is an annual festival of technology aimed at students, parents and the general public, and it’s coming around again on the 24th of April until the 30th.
In 2015, the event’s first year running, there were events held for the week all across the country to encourage learning about how computers and computing technology affect and shape all areas of modern life. From education to leisure, health to socialising and everything in between technology is present constantly. In regards to students, particularly secondary school students, Tech Week hopes to inspire and promote learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, as well as help students prepare to make informed choices for third level education.
Last years Tech Week proved to be a huge success with over 80’000 people taking part and huge social media interaction. It also got a lot of attention in printed media, both in local papers like the Wicklow Express and national ones like the Irish Times. It even got a segment on RTE News.
You can register for a Tech Week pack to get a bundle of activities to promote the event to a class, organisation or group for the festival. There’s also a page with events that will be updated in the coming days with everything that’s going on.
