Headstrong is The National Centre for Youth Mental Health and they are organising a Croke Park Abseil on Saturday 16th April 2016.
At Headstrong, they aim to connect young people to their communities to get the resilience to face challenges towards their mental health. Through their Jigsaw programme they provide free and confidential support for people aged 12-25 and are working to change how Ireland thinks about young people’s mental health. Jigsaw is currently in 10 communities around Ireland.
2016 marks Headstrong’s 10th year of making a difference to the mental health of young people across the country and also this is the second year of the Headstrong Hero Abseil.
They are looking for 70 brave and willing Heros to abseil of Croke Park’s famous Hogan Stand and raise over €25,000 to support young people’s mental health.
If you think you are up for the challenge then you can register here at eventbrite.com and also check out their FAQs and terms and conditions. To secure your place you must pay an initial €50 non-refundable deposit as well as a €3.46 booking fee.
Then you must raise €300 sponsorship in order to take part.
There will be some famous GAA faces there on the day and the event is proudly sponsored by Arthur Cox.
You must be at least 18 years of age and no heavier than 22 stone for insurance reasons.
