Galway Animation Camp

animation camp

If you have an interest in animation and seeing your drawings come to life then the Animation camp that will be commencing soon in the Galway Film centre.

The Easter Animation camp will run from the 21st of March through to the 24th at Cluain Mhuire, right beside the Galway Film Centre in Galway City, from 10am to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday.

At the camp you’ll learn how to make your own animation and meet and befriend like-minded individuals. Animation is a great way to tell stories. Unlike filming which requires sets, costumes and so on the only thing that can limit you is your own imagination. Animation can be hand drawn, computer generated or even made from objects like Clay, all of which are taught at the Animation Camp. You’ll even learn how to animate using an iPad.

At the end of it all you’ll receive a dvd with your animations on it, as well as credits for everyone involved. Great for portfolios. Animations will also be submitted into the Fresh Film Festival and the Galway Junior Film Fleadh.

Seeing your own creation screened on the big screen is hugely rewarding and gives you a great sense of accomplishment.
