Maths can be fun, and nowhere is this more evident than at the Connemara Maths Academy.
The Academy takes a different approach to teaching maths than you’d usually experience in the classroom. With learning focused on creativity and adventure the Connemara Maths Academy teaches mathematics by seamlessly weaving number of different fun activities like Archery, Music Production, Raft building and more into the curriculum. With these activities the Academy intends to show students how mathematics relates to real life.
Glenstal even features Aviation and teaches how mathematics are involved in flight
The Academy has three different summer camps, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, Co. Galway, Glenstal Abbey, Co Limerick and Killary Centre, Connemara, Co. Galway. Each have their own separate dates and activities for students to engage in, so be sure to check the website to find out which one is right for you.
There are also courses tailored specifically to Transition Year that schools can organise for their students to attend during the Academic Year with a curriculum each for Physics and Applied Mathematics alongside the standard mathematics curriculum. Alternatively, there are mobile workshops that can be brought to schools across the country.
Students get exposed to a number of different and innovative technologies. Ipads are used extensively for education with various apps, animations and iBooks to keep everyone engaged. They will also utilise 3D animation software and the technologies involved in recording music.
There’s also Virtual Reality tech
